BOTANIFICATION showcases the 3D printing design and technology of Darlene Farris-LaBar and photography of Mitzi Campbell to provide an up close and personal look at some of the indigenous plant life of the Delaware Water Gap Region. The exhibit allows people to be inspired by models and photos of a sampling of the beautiful and essential plants that propagate our natural world so that they may consider the importance of plants they may have otherwise overlooked. The exhibit draws awareness to form, color and significance and connects people with nature prompting meaningful interaction that can be translated to authentic experiences with botanicals in the wild. The historic Eve’s Herbarium, on loan from the Pocono Environmental Education Center, accompanies the exhibit and shows actual samples of the plant life preserved in a vintage botanical collection. This show includes a wonderful community partnership of organizations and individuals that support the pristine surroundings that include the Delaware Water Gap National Park. Partners involved are: Delaware Water Gap National Park and Recreation, Peters Valley School of Craft, Pocono Environmental Educational Center, East Stroudsburg University of PA, Don Miller Renown Naturalist, Mitzi Campbell- Photographer, and Darlene Farris-Farris-LaBar- 3D Printing Sculptor.
In celebration of the National Park 100th Anniversary, Bontanificaion will be first unveiled at the Delaware Water Gap National Park Headquarters located in Bushkill off of River Rd. The exhibition will continue to Peters Valley School of Craft located in Layton, NJ. Additional proposed shows including the Philadelphia Flower Show will be further announced at a later date.
